If you look at your store there are lots of things that need changing. First we will deal with getting rid of the big Oscommerce banners. However we will leave the small Oscommerce text reference at the bottom of the page. This is because it is a requirement to be included in the Oscommerce 'showcase' when your shop is ready.

Fire up gimp. Open the file on the disc at Templates\Graphics\OScommerce. This is exactly the right size, shape, file name and type to replace the Oscommerce one.

This is easy. If you are not there already, log in to your store control panel. Select Catalog > Categories/Products, click into the category or subcategory where you want to add your first product and press the New Product button.

Special refers to the price. You assign a special price to 1 or more products and osCommerce will highlight these reductions when your customer is viewing the relevant category or product as well as advertising them in a side panel of the store. Here is how to make a product special.

This is a slightly more sensitive issue. Having reviews on your site gives confidence to some potential buyers and gives more keyword food for the search engines to eat up. Of course you need customers before you get any reviews. But wouldn't it be nice to get a few good reviews under your belt before you open?

There are 5 essential pages that need to be filled out. 4 of them I have provided templates. They are located on the disc at Templates\Store Pages. Edit them in NVU to suit your specific business and then, as usual, copy and paste them into osCommerce via the store control panel.
